we're planning to travel to Peru in late August and just realized we should take advantage of some miles for that. so I applied for the United Explorer yesterday and got approved today (yay!). hoping we can rack up the spending in time for our travel, I'd also like to get a hotel rewards card. the two I'm considering are the Chase Mariott and the SPG.
I guess I'm leaning towards the Mariott (we could book 3nights with the sign-up bonus vs 2 nights with the SPG) but not sure Chase would be happy with the almost instant app. could anyone advise me on this? also, should I be worried about having four cards with them? I also have a checking and savings account.
cards in my signature, FICO score is 750, AAoA is 1 year 8 months, but I only have one inquiry. thanks a lot.
