Hello,
I applied for the Alaska Airlines signature credit card. I was approved, but I've read that approval limits below $5000 are not signature level cards.I really wanted the companion fare! If I cancel the card asap (just approved yesterday), would the new account still appear on my credit report?
Thanks!
Yes it will still show up even if you cancel right away.
So I think you are referring to several years ago when there was a lower tier Alaska card that did not have the same SUB if you got less than 5k. This is no longer the case, you will get the card and sub regardless of the limit. You should be good to go even if your limit was lower than 5k. It may still be Visa Sig also. My B of A Custom Cash is a siggy and it has a 2k limit.

Thanks for your reply! I read a few reviews and posts on the forum that mentioned the tiered system. If I will receive the sub no matter what my limit is, I guess I will just keep the card. Thanks again!

Congrats on the approval. You'll like card if you travel with Alaska often.
I wish they would come up with a card that will include their lounge access too.

Thanks! I like Alaska Air, so I hope to use the card often. I hope the limit grows. The account is already reporting on my report, which is surprising. I was approved just a few days ago.
