Am I SOL for applying for cards?

So preface this by stating I am wintering-over in Antarctica at the south pole station. Obviously there is no cell service here at all. I had a fraud flag placed on my credit reports by the IRS when someone tried to file a return in my name several years back. There are a couple of cards I thought I'd get while I'm here. I did one app for a Chase card and was told I had to go to their verification dept. I answered all of their questions and they said the final step was that I had to call them from or be called on the phone # that appears on my credit report. Which is my cell phone, which obviously does not work where I am. Is it likely other card issuers will have the same restriction? I was going to have the cards waiting for me in NZ when I leave here so that I could use them for travel as I make my way back home. Am I just SOL or is there anything I might be able to do?

Re: Am I SOL for applying for cards?

Obviously you have internet there. Do you have wifi? If you do, why don't you somehow get a cellphone that has wifi calling capabilities..? All of Tmobile's current models do..

NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

No way to get the phone here. Planes don't fly here during the winter Smiley Tongue Kinda stuck with AT&T who has wifi calling but only on iphones which is dumb. If I can't do anything I'll just wait

Re: Am I SOL for applying for cards?

Looks like I answered my own question. This must be a Chase specific practice. I applied for the other card I wanted, a Barclaycard and got approved instantly with a 10k limit.

Nice. I have no clue how to help your card situation but would love to see some pics of the south pole. What do you do there if you don't mind me asking?

Sure, here's a picture of the aurora australis I took a few days ago:

The green flash, actually a double green flash I was lucky to capture on camera at sunset:

Some Star Wars LEgos we took outside the station to pose with:
