Am I even eligible to get a Sync CLI?

Hi all,

I have had my Synchrony (Amazon and Walmart) cards for going on 4 months now. I have read that 4 is the magic number to request a CLI with Sync. Thing is, I have made requests monthly since getting approved and am always denied, reasons being baddies on my CR (old loans in collections) Will this still prevent me from getting a CLI with them even after 4 months of early / multiple / much-more-than-the-minimum payments? I have a $600 CL on each, TU FICO was 631 last month but probablly went down due to higher UTIL (will be paying it down next week though) Or will I just be unable to ever get a CLI with Sync with baddies on my reports?

Thanks!

ETA: I have tried calling Credit Solutions, tried the LUV button and tried via online chat. Never any luck.

Also, I have requested during different stages of UTIL. Get denials with even 6% UTIL.

My advice to you would be to pay down some of your debt to decrease your utilization. Synchrony is a tough bank, but keep using your card and PIF before due date to increase chances. Have you tried calling synchrony bank or do you make your request online? Online only increased me to 1400 from 500. When I called the bank, they bumped me to 6,000.

Get ur TU score over 650 first, then try again.  I hear the most success stories after 650 TU score

Current Scores EQ 689| EX 688| TU 679
Comenity 57.5k| Navy Fed 52.5k| Capital One 32.3k| Synchrony 23k| BBVA Compass 5.5k| First Commerce 4k| Barclays 1.9k|

What is your stated income?  I have been given one CLI each thru chat and thru calling Credit Solutions (both before 4 months).  Each time they asked for my income ($130,000), asked me to hold for 2 to 3 minutes, then came back saying CLI approved.  Lower income could be a factor if you're not getting CLIs.

About $48,000. Wonder if they think that's too low?

I dont think its a problem with income. They are more than likely not willing to move you up due to the negatives on file. I hit a wall with them at 3500 on Chevron with a clean report except for an old BK and once it dropped I was easily able to move up to a higher limit. I would work on getting the baddies taken care of. Good luck Smiley Happy

Re: Am I even eligible to get a Sync CLI?

I have had my Walmart and Sams Club cards the longest. The only CLIs I have ever received were in the first year of use. And they were always when the card was paid in full. Always surprise increases by the issuer without any request from me.

For the past several years, any manual request for an increase I've made has resulted in a denial.  I don't even bother asking any more. They are both paid in full and get no more use. Sock drawered.

I couldn't get my first CLI on my eBates until I passed six months. You may have another couple months to wait.
