So been building my scores up lately. Really interested in the rewards offered from Amazon, but their approval requirements seem to be outrageously stringent...I mean, my CBR's are far from perfect, but really? Worst thing right now is that I have a lot of inquiries over the last 2 years, good things are that I have all of my cards between 0 and 25 percent utilization, 1 4-year old hospital collection account still reporting, car lease I've had for a year with no missed or late payments...could my inquries really be the one thing keeping me from getting approved? Scores ATM are 629 EQ, 650 TU, and 612 EX...Just wanted to see if anyone else building or built has had similar experience with Sync. Tried Walmart as well...same thing...
Did you apply and what was the reason for the denial? Often times, the clue is in the reason given for denial..

I applied like 6 months ago and the reasons were derogatory marks, inquiries, high util (which it was at the time) and low age of accounts...since then I've closed more recent accounts that weren't good anyways, lowered my utilization, and gotten 2 recent derogatory marks removed...applied today, got denied again. I guess we'll see what the reasons are when the letter comes...

That sucks and sorry to hear.. Hang in there and see what denial reason is. With this card, your best chance is to wait for at least a year when your inquiries have aged abit, aaoa have improved etc...

So interesting, I just applied for the E-Bay mastercard (Issued through Synchrony and usually harder to be approved for) and got it...temporary limit says $250. The street name on my credit report has "Ln" as opposed to "Lane", and I used "Ln" on the E-Bay app and "Lane" on the Amazon app, so I wonder if that may have triggered something... funny how all of this stuff works sometimes, lol.

Congrats and I don't think the "Lane vs Ln" has anything to do with the approval. Remember, every credit card has different underwriting guidelines. So it could be that you you met the guideline for the card you got approved for.
It is a very good start to get you into Synchrony. Enjoy it.
