Amazon Store Card CLI Denied

Hiya.

I recently requested a CLI through chat for my Amazon store card and was denied. Just got the letter in the mail today and it lists off reasons that I've never seen before.

Percentage of times payment greater than amount due over last 12 months on this account

Payments as a percentage of amount due in last period on this account

Low ratio of payments top amount due over last 6 months on this account

Maximum consecutive months there was a balance decrease over the most recent six months for this account

Ummm... what? Can someone please break this down to me in plain english because I haven't the faintest idea as to what any of it even means. All I know is that I have a zero balance on the card at present and have PIF'd it twice after using it.

Use it more, carry a bit of a balance for a while or a little bit of both?

I save my Amazon purchases until I have over $150 of stuff to buy, so I qualify for 6 month 0% financing. Then I take a few months to pay if off, and always more than the minimum payment.

I would suggest trying this strategy the next time you have something to buy from Amazon, then enjoy your CLI Smiley Happy

Hmmm. That actually isn't a bad idea. I'm definitely going to try this and see what happens. Thank you for that suggestion.

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI Denied

looks like they want well-informed shoppers who buy their stuff not well informed people that know how to make money off of them. Buy a couple of fire sticks and subscribe to prime streaming. A large purchase to get that deferred interest won't hurt, paid on month5.

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI Denied

I need to try this. I always PIF. I finally called credit solutions today but I can't get more out of them for anything. I have other CL at 1,500, 1700, and 5,000! Still stuck at 600 with Synchrony. I would like more in case I need to ride through a statement or two for MBA textbooks. Plus ya know, I want more than 600. lol

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI Denied

Use it more and pay it full every month

Here's my experience with my store card, i had my store card 11/2014 with $300 limit, then by 01/2015 i requested CLI to $1k then 04/2015 i requested another CLI $10k but they didn't give my request instead they give me $6k. Which i'm happy about it.

Re: Amazon Store Card CLI Denied

You need to pay your account down and make more than the minimum payments. That is what they mean.
