Amazon...Store or VISA?

I have a couple things in my cart and of course the invitation to apply but, I don't recall if they're seperate apps or if you apply for one they approve whichever you're eligible for?

I was turned down for the Chase Amazon a few months ago when I applied directly through Chase. I've never applied for the Amazon store card and really not interested in a $300SL

The invitation I got on my screen was for the Amazon Store card only.  There was a $40 coupon.  The amount they give you is tied to your FICO score. I got $1000 and my scores are around 660.

Re: Amazon...Store or VISA?

Amazon store card is financed by Synchrony and those cards grow with you!  So even if the limit is 300, you can always call in for a CLI providing that your scores aren't too low.  You have to start somewhere and if that isn't store that you frequent, get your foot in there! Good luck!

Re: Amazon...Store or VISA?

I would go for the Store Card as I like the permanent 5% statement credit/0% interest financing deals on the card. In terms of limits, when I app'd I was only approved at $1500. I called and spoke to a rep who immediately approved an increase to $10K. Amazon Visa is Chase and only earns 3% @ Amazon versus 5% for the Synchrony Bank version. Unless you need a Visa Rewards Card, I wouldn't go for the Visa.

As others said they're totally separate. Store card is superior if you have a prime membership (free shipping, Amazon TV/radio, 5% back).

Re: Amazon...Store or VISA?

I went for the store card myself. I really have no use for the actual VISA.

I started with a CL of $600 when I opened it in May of this year. But I didn't care about the CL too much because it's Synchrony. Talked to them via Online Chat in September and got it bumped to $1000 and talked to them again last Monday and got it up to $3000. Both times were instant approvals so I'm sure I could aim higher. I don't buy much on Amazon, but it's nice to have a good limit if I do and to provide good CL padding to my overall credit limits. It has good perks like the Special Financing and the 5% if you're Prime (I'm not). So I see no need for the VISA imo.

Congrats! There is a good chance that either using the Chat Function or speaking to a rep will increase your limit if you so desire.

I think the chat box is available M-F. At least that's what it said when I tried the other day. Congrats!
