Amazon Visa Rewards Limbo?

I just applied with the Amazon ECHO in my cart and got this message:

Thank you for applying for the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card.

Unfortunately, an immediate decision about your application can not be provided as it requires further review. You will be notified in writing about the status of your application within 30 days.

Is this 30 Days Good or Bad message?

Im so Lost will all this gamesmanship: Who really means X by really saying Y.

I mean, I got just  approved by Sam's Club for CL $637, and everyone hear said ask for the

CLI and I did but was told new account so NO increase,  But the next day I logged into my

Walmart card acct and my CL was doubled to CLI $1500 without even asking.

I'm just very, very confused.  Any help appreciated,,,,

Re: Amazon Visa Rewards Limbo?

I just got the amazon visa card through a shopping cart trick yesterday, and when I went to check out I received a pre-approvial. When I applied it told me within 30 seconds or so that I was approved. I know you can call into chase and check on the status of your application, and you will be able to get a for sure answer. Hope this helps!! Good luck...Hope you get approved!!

 call this number 1-800-432-3117.

and see what the status says. ideally u want 2 weeks, reports of 30 days is not a killer either. but 7 to 10 days is usually a decline.

Re: Amazon Visa Rewards Limbo?

Sure you were approved for a Sams and Walmart which is backed by Synchrony bank. Had you applied for the Amazon store card which is also backed my Synchrony you probably would have been approved. However you applied for the Amazon VISA which is a Chase card, and much harder to get approved for.

Congrats on Sam's Club and Walmart.  As others have said, those two are backed by Synchrony Bank, while Amazon Visa is backed by Chase.  I tried to apply for it once, but my EX scores were not high enough.  Now that they have the 5 cards in 2 years rule, it is a waste of a hard pull for me, plus with my scores edging closer to 700 in a couple of years, I'll apply for a Freedom or CSP.  If you want in with Amazon, then the store card will be your best bet for now.  When I got Sam's Club, I didn't get an immediate increase, but bought something, paid it off, then the next month, I got an increase, and have gotten 2 other increases.  Plan to sit back now and see if it with auto increase on its own.  Since Walmart gave you an auto increase, then you are now in a better position to ask for another increase, but I would wait till your score improves a little bit more.  Good luck.Smiley Wink

Re: Amazon Visa Rewards Limbo?

I wouldn't totally count them out.

Last month I had applied and received the 30-day, and went on with life.

I had totally forgotten about it by the time the email arrived telling me I was approved.

My card was on the way and was available on my account to be used immediatelly.

It was about 2 weeks later I believe.

Re: Amazon Visa Rewards Limbo?

It took three weeks before I was notified I was approved for United Explorer. Chase is a funny duck.

Good luck... If those are the current scores in your signature if will most likely be a tough approval to obtain.  Let it play out and don't call as all you can do is hope for the best.  As others stated Chase is a heck of alot stricter than Sync. when it comes to underwritting standards.
