I say mini but it's more like micro. Probably not even a spree... I applied to Amazon and CapOne QuickSilver One (pre qualified). Amazon said they cannot process a quick decision as they require more information and would mail me within 30 days. CapOne said they needed more time to look into my application and to be on the look out for an email within 7-10 business days. Then about 15-20 minutes later, a got a call from their fraud department asking me if I was the one that applied and to verify the last 4 of my social. Afterwards she said they would continue to review my app. Is that a good sign?
Im debating if I should go ahead and just call Amazon to see if I can be of any assistance with the application process. I'm also debating if I should just apply for WalMart as well since I'm already taking hits to my score. I couldn't get the SCT to work for Overstock and to be honest I don't really care too much for them, but I guess extra credit is still extra credit as long as the fees aren't crazy.
Instant denial for Discover IT
We appreciate your interest in Discover card. However, after reviewing your application we are unable to approve your request for a card at this time. You will receive a letter in 3-5 business days that will detail the reasons for this decision.
Just got my approval email from Amazon.com
They gave me $500 which is great seeing that my first two cards gave me $300. Too bad I still can't get my laptop with it. I'm about $300 shy of that goal.
Looks like they pulled Experian and said my score was 621...even though if only says 655...
Now I'm debating if I should go ahead and give CapOne a call today and recon DiscoverIt
Did you get the Amazon store card or the Visa?

Discover does not recon. Cap1 sounds like they just needed verification.

It was the Rewards Visa. I just found out that the store card is the one I needed for financing large purchases
Hmm someone else recon'd Discover and was approved...but their scores are about 150 points higher than mine.
So should I call CapOne?

Of course. It won't jeopardize anything.
Others please chime in, does Discover recon?

I just called CapOne EO number and she said the application department was closed for the evening already. Maybe I said the wrong thing? I told her I was calling in regards to a recent application. She seemed perky and chipper

Just to let you know. I also received the 7-10 message with Cap1 for the QS1. I got a call that night from the fraud dep't. I called back a couple of days later to check the status and was approved. They were also able to tell me my SL, but not able to tell me exactly when the card will ship.
So, though I can't guarantee an approval, IME, the 7-10 message and call from fraud dep't was not a bad thing.
