Austinguy907,
I am officially gardening for the next 12 months. I need some inquiries to fall off my reports and I also need my Credit limits to grow so I'll be nursing them in the garden. The American Express card was the last card I wanted. I have the other cards that I need ,so I don't need anything else. I just need larger credit limits. The sub prime cards will be cancelled officially tomorrow.
Congrats on everything! You're really pushing forward with a plan and that's going to help so much when it comes to growing things. Just think of watering them as using them and paying them each month. Every CLI is like a boost of fertilizer being added to the mix to promote growth and flowering. In 14 months you have 3 attempts to boost AMEX by a multiple of 3 each time. Nuture your other cards with some activity as well to keep them in shape and prevent them from wilting. It's a bit time consuming sometimes waiting for the gardent to yield some results but, patience pays off pretty well in the terms of CL's and scores.

Good for you! I just closed my last subprime card this weekend and it's such a relief! For me, it was Credit One and they didn't want to listen to me when I said I wanted to close it. They kept telling me all they would do for me if I kept it open. I finally had to cut the guy off and tell him no means no!
congrats i have a 695 score but i keep getting denied

There's no magic number when it comes to getting in. I had been denied in the 700's prior to getting in. It's the overall view of your profile and not just your scores.
Hi austinguy907,
you our have no idea how much I appreciate all of the advice. According to the representative she advised to swipe, swipe often for chances of cli's. She advised to try and ge 20 swipes a month to receive a 20% bonus. So I plan to make small purchases and make multiple payments as the cl is only $1000. This will be my primary card and the others I will put small balances on them and pif each month for everyone. Looking forward with hopes of the 3xCLI.
Hi low62,
i too have was denied at least 10 times. To perfectly honest with you all of my inquiries or American Express I think they just got fed up and said let's just give her a card because every 30 days I would apply. This last time I actually spoke with the representative that was very knowledgeable and her questions were more in depth than the application online. U2 will get your card just keep trying and I'm wishing you the best of luck! All the inquiries on my experience report I have 18 and 11 are for American Express so that just goes to show how often I was applying.
ED 20% bonus is only 1.2% rewards for 20+ swipes. It's still a foot in the door but, not really the best option for rewards. Give it 12-14 months to grow and then go for the BCE or something else with better rewards and move the CL over since you can't PC between MR's and Cash back. Depending on your spend you can get up to 6% on the BCP for groceries, 3% on gas/dept stores, and 1% on everything else. The ED/P campaigns for advertising were effective but, when it comes down to dollars and cents it doesn't do much unfortunately. Just use it and pay it is all you can do for now and mark down those vital 1st CLI @ 61 days and every other at 181 days from there.
