Amex BCE Application

Hi guys,

Riding off the high from my Chase Freedom approval, I applied for BCE today. I got the "Pending application, within 14 days" business. I heard they pull EX so I took a stab at it. I've got a 725 EX, maybe 2-3 inqs the past 6 months. AAoA just under a year no derogs. Util is at 11%. The online status application says I need to call in because they need to verify my home address (recently moved.) Has anyone experienced this before? I called in (three separate times...) and the most I could get out of them was to just wait a few days. Normally with the backdoor numbers you can get things moving quick, but I'm stuck in limbo here. Any wisdom is appreciated from the Amex family.

Did they verify your address with your bank? That's what they wanted from me. I got a call from them asking to do this but I wasn't able to while they were on the phone. The rep said he couldn't authorize my card to be mailed to me until this was done. Which to me seemed like it meant I was approved. I tried calling back and the next rep rep said it was declined because of that. I was thinking of trying to recon but everything I read said Amex wasn't great for recons. On a whim I made my bank account match my home address and the address on credit report and reapplied. It went pending but I got an approval email Monday with no phone calls (apped Friday)

How long did it take for them to give you a call? All my addresses should match up at this point since my bank address was changed a couple weeks ago.
