Got the Plenti card 2 days ago and decided to go for the BCE today and got message to call which I did. The rep asked about recent app for the Plenti card and said a HP had been done for that card and another HP would have to be done on this app but they didn't want to do it tonight and that I should call back in 5 days. Anybody know what this means. I know generally Amex doesn't do HP's on existing members unless there is an approval. Does this sound like another approval or what.

How was their english? Did they seem to you to be legit?

The system automatically puts the app on a hold. There's nothing anyone can do to push it through. It's normal but maybe the CSR didn't explain it to you well. It's part of their security protection.

I have experienced the hold you speak of and maybe you are right .....this may be all there is to it. However, I have never been told though that another hard pull would be done and I've never had a hard pull unless it was an approval. Guess I will have to wait until Monday to find out.
App had been "in Progress"........got up late this morning and it showed the BCE Approved.......... called and got my SL , I was approved for 17.9K which again is strange but I will gladly take it. So ......in the past wk Amex has increased by CL by 32.9K, with my Delta Gold that gives me over 50K with Amex on revolvers plus I have the ol green goblin with NPSL.......what can I say I love Amex now. Mods may want to move this to approvals.

Wow... Very nice and congrats on the approvals..
I got nice into 0% APR for over a year on both cards.........renovating rental property right now and over 30K o% money is super nice.
