Amex BCP CLI at Activation - Denied

I tried for a CLI right after activation on my $25k BCP. Went for $50k and expected to get the 4506(t) request, at which point I would just drop the amount until the point that it went through without the request. I got outright denied and called rep to confirm that I would have to wait 90 days to try again. Credit score was 828.

I'm not bummed out since $25k is a huge SL, but just thought this might be a helpful data point for some if you end up being approved with a high SL.

I was denied at activation as well, but I do not soar in your lofty heights:

5k initial CL and ~690 score.

So when you called them they explicitly said 90 days?  I will have to mark my creditcalendar.

Yep, they make you wait 90 days after any denial, however trying again too soon is said to not reset the clock.

I use this site to help me figure the exact date, since some months are longer than others:

I was approved for the BCP with a $1k credit line.  My score at approval was 695.  I was turned down for a CLI at activation (and twice since then), so I'm very familiar with the 90 day wait... haha.

(My CLIs are denied due to an Amex IIBK back in 2000 - 16 years ago... don't make Amex angry!)
