I am going through the same thing right now. I applied for the Gold card and was denied, call recon line, (bad attitude rep) was told that my FICO was to low, explained that my score was significantly better now. My score has been updated on the site (740) but my application is now pending, so I'm just playing the waiting game now. 🤷🏽‍♂️ This was about a week ago.

I will give them another 3 days, then call to get an updated status.

First off, best of luck on your application process. One thing I do want to give you a heads up on is that the agent I spoke to informed me that they are experiencing a pretty substantial uptick in new applications, so they are currently behind in processing (I still have not heard back on my reconsideration application, and that was submitted on last Saturday - so now 5 business days). Evidently they are saying it can take upwards of 2+ weeks, so you may not have an update just yet - but hopefully you hear good news. Smiley Happy

Additionally, in case you were not already aware, AMEX has an application status page online (https://online.americanexpress.com/eaol/statusCheckExitAction.do) in case you want to check the status on your own. Best of luck to you!

@Cpmcmxc

I called in today you get a status and they declined the application because I am too new. The said my FICO score, and income was great but since I am new I have to wait but he did recommend to reapply in 30 days.

Do you guys think that 30 days make that much of a difference?

Not really, given that it's unlikely there will be any material changes and time is not something you can speed up.  IMO, about ~6 months might place you in a better position as your profile ages.  I would assume you've obtained a few accounts in the past 12 months (i.e. Apple, Discover, Regions, BB&T, etc.)?

Yeah I think 30 days is a bit short also but since they don't do a HP I guess it won't hurt to try. 🤷🏽‍♂️

My Amex Delta Gold should be eligible for the 3x cli, in a month so I will reapply then.
