Amex CLI 7-10 message, but immediate email...

They sent me an immediate email saying they finished reviewing and need me to call.  So, anyone know why they would do this?

Thanks!

More than likely they need to verify some info, give them a call.

+1

I got that message as well... they just wanted to make sure it was "me" applying for the card.  Smiley Wink

It was actually quite painless - after keying some stuff into the computer the CSR told me I was approved.

Good luck!  Smiley Very Happy

X days isn't a guarantee of how long it takes.  It's just boilerplate.  Whatever it is that needs to be done will take however long it takes.  If they're done, they're done regardless of the X days message.   If they need you to call then call them.  We can't tell you why they're calling.

They more than likely just want to verify some information. I wouldn't worry too much.... it could have been worse... like an instant denial. Keep us posted!!

same thing happened to me so i called the number and they said no to the cli request. then i told the rep that i could have waited for the letter to arrive. i thought the email was sent because you needed more information from me . so now when my cli request gets denied i don't get emails anymore

They may need to verify information - keep us posted!  No one likes to see the 7-10 day message but it doesn't always mean a denial.

How long has it been since you last tried the CLI? When I tried too soon and they told me to call, it was a denial. So I didn't bother calling. I got a letter that I tried too soon and my account needed to be 60 days old. HTH!
