Amex CLI Request Interval

Does anyone know how long to wait between CLI requests if they are denied?

Re: Amex CLI Request Interval

Denied for which reason...credit-related reasons or a premature request?

Re: Amex CLI Request Interval

If the reason you were denied was related to credit reasons, such as utilization too high on other cards, you've been recently past due, etc., you need to wait 90 days to ask again. Asking earlier will be another denial and will restart the clock. I tend to err on the side of caution so I'd wait a little over 90 days just to be sure.😂

New Card  members have sometimes been able to get a limit increase at 61 days after opening their card. If your denial was because you asked too soon then that's different. You'll just need to wait longer for example, try again in another 30 days or longer if you want to err on the side of caution.

Also when you are approved for a limit increase on an Amex card you'll want to wait 181 days before asking for a limit increase on any of your other Amex credit cards.

91* days, but good advice about waiting longer regardless. I'd wait till 95+ days.

Yes the denial was credit related. Too many accounts with balances. I prematurely requested a CLI before all of my paid accounts updated to the CRA's. After the balances updated I kept getting a message stating that I recently applied for a credit limit increase and can't request one at this time.

Right, since you asked too early, now you must unfortunately wait the 91 days.
