I forget lol. I went almost a whole year thinking I was turning 40 when I was only going to turn 39 lol.
The intent of my post was NOT to complain that Amex would not give me a CLI while the BK reported. I'm VERY happy with what I have...and VERY happy with the way I've been treated by Amex since they let me back in. To be honest, I could not be happier with Amex. They've treated me very well. My Amex cards are in my signature. I know the limits will grow, and I'm patient. My question was more along the lines of how long it takes Amex to realize the BK has fallen off. I know Amex does ARs. Just thought someone had some real world experience.
Totally get it. They were the 2nd bank to allow me credit behind Apple Card.
I'll forever be thankful for them giving me credit. Was just saying it was odd that they approved me for two cards and no issue with BK except for when I asked for CLI.
@Jeffster1 and @cabledude27, y'all are both way ahead of me; I burned AMEX for some big money in my 2015 Chapter 13, like nearly thirty-grand, and I seriously doubt they're going to be letting me back in any time soon. I did try a preapproval with them six or so months back and got an instant denial referencing my previously closed account. At this point my wife and I are in heavy house hunting mode, do I won't be applying for anything, AMEX or otherwise, until after we land a mortgage.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
Sucks but time heals all and I have no patience for that so I say it but hate it lol.
best part is I didn't include AMEX in any of the BK. I had paid them off before things went south.
mortgage is my also on our list. I've never owned a house so 1st home buyer stuff is what I'm hoping for, as well as lower interest rates etc so waiting until 4/2025 again sucks but maybe fate.
good luck on the house and AMEX in the future.

Thanks, my wife just spent several hours looking at places online; we are in an envyable position in that we are leasing a nice new townhome in New Hamster, and we've been here long enough to be on month-to-month, so we can pretty much move at any time. We've also been fortunate to be able to live frugally enough over the last ten years since our financial world collapsed to put down 20% without hurting our savings too much.
Regarding AMEX, prior to the whole COVID thing my company had me fly Delta for most of my trips; I changed jobs in 2021 and my new job was supposed to have me on the road at least 15 weeks per year, yeah, about that, my third anniversary is about to come up and I have yet to have a single trip. If/when I go back on the road my new company wants folks to fly United and scoring an airline card with them will be through Chase and not AMEX, so yeah, I may never have an AMEX again.

Never say never lol.
We moved south from NJ to NC when my credit clears up is gonna be monstrous. Was paying $2200 and they were gonna jack us to $2500 in NJ for a 3bd 2ba apartment and here in NC we are renting a 4bd 3ba, 2 car garage, front and back yard house for $2200.
and the south is great. They don't like the northerners so much but cheap all around.
should have moved sooner.

LOL, I'm a Yankee born and raised in Michigan and I've lived all over the country, Dallas and Atlanta professionally and Quantico when I with in Uncle Sam's Misguided Children, so yeah, I've heard it all. Do you know the difference between a Yankee and a **bleep** Yankee? The Yankee's move back north.
