Amex Delta Gold CLI DENIED!

I eagerly awaited my 61 day post opening of my Amex Delta Gold to ask for a CLI.

I sent the request yesterday on July 4th.

I wanted to go from $1000 limit to $3000

This would match most of my other Bankcard limits some higher..

No response.

This afternoon I went on chat on Amex website and they checked the request response for me.

Denied for Fico score too low. Damn!!!

Not sure what they pulled and forgot to ask.

EXP is 645 TU 625 EQ 637

Ok well I guess I can ask again in 6 months right?

You only have to wait for 90 days for the possibility of another CLI.

Based on what I've read around here and other places, you won't see a CLI on that card until your scores rise substantially.  I'm in the same situation, and even though my EX has risen quite substantially, my next 90 days is in a week, and I am guessing I'll be denied again.

My impression is that a lot of people who get in with AmEx via the Delta Gold sit at the $1k credit limit for a long time if they got in with low scores (as I did).

Jay Tee - I think you are right. Based on what I read, the scores have to come way up for a CLI.

I have used the card 2x and pif ea time. I can wait them out with all my other credit avail.

Thanks for the heads up on the 90 days, but I think I will wait till Christmas and hope with

Good luck. Hope it work out. I e got scores in the 730-750 range with limits has high as $35k (thanks PenFed) and am STUCK at $1k limit on this card. I can't get a cli at all. Multiple people on this forum have said that the $1k Amex started limits are the hardest to get cli on. Good luck. If you figure out a way to get them to increase let us know!

I was denied as well 2 weeks ago for my 61 day cli. Denied me with the same credit scores you approved me with  just unreal!  I will sock drawer them for awhile as I have bigger fish to fry.

I just got approved for a $2k loc two days ago, however when I click on the buying power button, it says I'd be approved for a $4k purchase. You may be approved for purchases higher than the $1k you were approved for?

I too was denied my 3x cli on day 61 last week, so don't feel bad! I started out with $1000 limit as well. But my ex score is still 645 which is what it was when approved.
