Amex ED CLI Denial With HP Need Help

I Was Approved For The Amex ED 2 weeks ago, when I received the card I tried for the 3X CLI when activating; not only was I denied but AMEX HARD PULLED TRANSUNION TWICE!!!!!! I thought it would be a Soft Pull. Now they are saying they can not remove it. If they would have informed me the credit limit increase could possibly be a Hard Pull I would have never Requested the increase. Now i've been bounced around from one Department to another and they all nothing they can do or give them 24hours to contact me back. IF ANYONE HAS ANY USEFUL INFORMATION THAT WOULD HELP I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

anytime you request credit they can HP you unfortunately. so yes, it is a sucky situation they did HP you when it's usually a SP but when you ask for credit that is what can happen. they chances of them removing it are virtually 0. sorry OP

Unfortunately, this is correct.  Although it's usually a SP, in the event it is an HP there's not much recourse, since 'technically' you are initiating the increase. 

This being said, if you called them and at some point they offered to call you back in 24 hours, I would definitely take them up on it... there's certainly nothing to lose at this point.  It's always possible you'll get someone in a 'giving' mood and they'll voluntarily remove the HPs.  The worst they can do at this point is say no...

I would google "American Express Executive Office Phone Number" and call the EO. They do have a right to do a HP but they DO NOT have a legal right to run multiple inquires through for the same credit transaction.

that's not supposed to happen. they typically don't even pull TU lol. you must be in a geographical location that enjoys TU
