As someone who has recently done some hardcore research on both the cards (seeing that I have to app in January due to backdating), it looks like the same requirements meet each card. They have the same underwriting, as you mentioned.
If I can help a little, may I ask what your AAoA, # of inquiries, utilization, score , etc is?
Your chances of approval are very good.
Have you decided which one you are going to go with?
I was only at 5 months when I got my first AMEX. Revolver or not, they like to see at least 6 months of good history. I believe my utilization was around 2% or 4% at the time as well. I've heard a lot of people getting approval for BCE with 3-6 months. Some even can't get approved for a charge card, but get $4k-8k limits on the Delta, BCE, Everyday, etc.
Thank you!!
And same here! I wish I could start watering my garden, but I know I can't get in until I get this AMEX issue taken care of. Once I finally have my two cards, I'm gonna be all set to let my scores go back up and have time between my inquiries. I'm thinking Chase Freedom in May or June 15.
I still got to learn how MR points work. *Scratches head* This is too confusing. I can never decide if it's a better idea "cash back-wise" to swipe my AMEX or my BoA card at checkout. Some people have said the points have less value.
But regardless, it looks like you and I will both be rooting for each other coming Jan 1!
