Amex ED prequal with 12.9 apr, is it solid?

I backed out of making an app for the Amex ED CC.

It was showing a 12.9 apr.

My EX is 722 with 2 INQs, TU is 728 with 1, EQ is 685 with 1 INQ.  Only baddies are on EQ and will roll off by 02/2016.  Two lates on mortgage 15 months ago.

I just have a couple personal reservations to work through before I go back and submit the app again.

Latest prequals in the mail have shown the Green Amex.

My question is, did that look like a solid prequal?  I also had the Amex Gold showing in the prequal screen, but I'd rather have the ED.

Opinions on how solid it was?

I've never gotten a pre-qual online with Amex, or mail offers.  I'm not sure how accurate theirs is, but if it's showing an offer, I's assume you're good.  With your scores though, I would think you're good to go.  Also, if you decide you want the gold, get the premier rewards gold, same approval requirements for the regular gold only a little extra annual fee but way better rewards than regular gold.  Regular gold isn't worth it.  The Everyday card you want is a nice card too in my opinion.

If they give you an specific APR, then you have a ticket to get in with Amex. Apply and let us know the results !

Sounds like you are golden for the app, however, what is the points offer? You only have one shot at a bonus for any given AMEX card, and if the offer here is 10,000 points, that's fine, that's the basic offer, but it was recently at 25,000 points if you were able to get through to a good link. It may be a while before the 25k points comes around again, but it probably will. The APR, whatever is given on the intial app if you don't take this offer, the APR can be asked to reduce after you have the actual card.
