Amex Every Day App Under Review by Executive Team

I applied for an Amex Every Day card a couple of days ago.  I was not given an instant result, it went into pending status.  I keep checking the application status site and it says that my application cannot be found.  So, I called, and they're telling me that the executive team is reviewing my application.  It could take 2-3 more days.  Has anyone else had this experience?  I'm not sure what to expect.

Same thing happened to my first amex app. It took about 10 days, but it was approved.. Seems as if some marginal approvals will go this route
