It looks like the Amex pre-qual site may have changed some as it is saying Based on your interests, we recommend the following Cards for you. So make sure that those are true pre-quals and not recommends

Many of us highly value that MR points but they are far better for those who travel as their best value is transferring them to hotel or airline partners. If yo don't travel then it really is best to stick to the cash back cards like those in the Blue family.
Thanks Irish80!
I travel 1-3 times a year (no more overseas for me), depends on what I can fit into the plans for the year,
After the coments here I found the rewards information on the Amex site, seems the 2X MR points can only be if you use the amextravel site to book, if I am reading it right.
I want points to be easy to use, so far reading all the Amex info I am still confused LOL...
I have 3 inq's on EX, just checked my score on it and it is 707 right now, it is what they pull, correct?.
Yep, they pull EX.

Hi jmr79x.
It says this:
Hello, MyName.
We have found the following pre-qualified Card offers for you.
These offers are only available here. We invite you to apply for one today.
So I assume they are offers, I guess not 100%, but better than sugestions I would think.
Thanks!

That's the language for a real offer. Plus, the 12.99% APR screams "we like you!"
@FinStar wrote:I concur with Irish. So, if cash back is more aligned with your spending patterns (vs. travel), go with the Blue Cash.
And, in the infamous words from CAPTOOL... Did you app yet?
LOL, I was waitng for that question!
No, it seems most feel I can get the Blue Cash, I just am worried as it is not in my pre-qual, but as said I guess they try to market certain cards more.
Also, now I am really confused as to what card I want, the Blue Cash Or Everyday card.
I think I need a drink, not much of a drinker, but maybe it will help me make up my mind now ![]()

I think you are a bit confused.. MR are transferred to partners.. For Best value they are transferred to airline partners not through amextravel. They can be used for cash, but you get very poor value if you use them this way.
It takes quite a bit of research and time to get the best value out of them, you might be off with the BCE or similiar if you want an Amex and cash back works for you. I suggest you read up and do a google search of comparing Amex Blue cash to Amex Everyday and you should get hits comparing them and do a bit of research before jumping on either. Just my 2 cents if you want an Amex card.

Yes I am a bit confused ![]()
I should have waited a few more minutes and seen your reply!
Captool, jmr79x, and Finstar made me app!
I went for the Everyday that was in my offers, but yes I will need to get a better grasp on how to best use this card.
I did get it, setup my account and it turns out as 3500.00 SL, 12.99 APR (my lowest after any 0% temps I have).
I'll start doing more reading on it soon, when I had 2 CC's 15+ years ago (closed), I did not have these rewards (at least I do not recall them).
Thank you all very much!
