Re: Amex Everyday minimum approval requirements

Amex uses an internal score.  You can't be sure of getting approved based on a FICO score.  However, my guess is over 700 EX-08 score.   If you have a good relationship with Amex or high income, the needed score may be lower.  If you have high utilization, the score needed may be higher.  YMMV

Amex also seems ot have been pushing the ED/EDP cards this year.  They might be willing to approve for the cards with slightly lower scores than the other revolvers (apart from the Delta revolver).

My daughter is 23, has a hospital collection on her report and is mid 600s, She got approved for the ED on Saturday with a low $1k limit but approval none the less. Amex's internal scoring is all over the place.

Personal Credit? Check. Business Credit? Check.
Mission Accomplished.

It is just that FICO model doesn't necessarily match Amex's model.  Maybe Amex discounts medical collections.  In which case, your Daughter's Amex score could be higher than would be implied by her EX-08 score.   EX-08 is basically a FAKO score as far as Amex goes, but it is the closest we have to Amex's internal score.
