Amex Gold PRG Application

I applied for Amex Gold PRG so I can backdate to 1990

I got denied.. credit score was only 659 EX on 11/6/14

However something updated... and it is now on 11/12/14 682 EX

How do you recon? I applied this morning again for... and it came back CANCELLED due to recently denied application

From listening to others here it seems like the lowest I recall seeing approved was 680's but with low util and such. I didn't even try AMEX until I broke 700. This place has taught me much and I learned credit is a process that requires patience.

Amex generally 670 > will get approved for charge cards. Obviosuly your results may vary on tons of scenarios, but that seems like kinda the magic line. Revolvers "should' be higher standards, but have seen low scores with those approved as well, so it is a YMMV type thing.. Anyways, sure the recon number can be found here on the forum regarding the OP's intiial recon concern. Use the search function.

Just did a quick search on here and pick a #, no clue which one you want to use..

AmEx: 800-567-1083 (App Status - Use with caution if attempting a denied app recon; have been advised by one member that they can only resubmit app with another hard pull)
AmEx: 800-230-1284 (Account Services - handles accounts with issues)
AmEx: 800-700-7619 (Reserves - handles closed and charged-off accounts)
AmEx Executive Office: 800-297-6197
American Express Credit Bureau Unit: 800-874-2717. (Must have a current credit report before calling. They will ask for the account number from the credit report, which is different from your card number.)

Good luck with the recon, I hear that AMEX will overturn denial on a recon when there are inaccuracies on the report but you never know.

I was approved with an EX 642 (myFICO), good income, this past wed just received card yesterday
