Hello Everyone, i've been interested in applying for the american express gold for a couple of months, i applied for the BCE in december of last year but got denied due to my credit score (Experian 693 at the time) currently i don't have any offers, preapprovals or prequalifications for it (unless you count the offers you get from credit karma, mint, wallet hub). I do have a couple of upcoming trips so i would be able to hit the min spend for the current offer but i don't want to risk getting an inquiry and not getting accepted, my original plan would be to apply in the beginning of march or around the 17, what do you guys think are my approval odds?
Thanks for all the help.

I think we all face that, but honestly if you want the card and can utilize it, gotta take the risk.
Seems at times ..I have had more denials than approvals. But in that,
have also had some decent approvals ...
To me the HP is worth the risk. (your score has come up)

Seems like your scores came up quite a bit, I say try again. Did you look at the reason for denial and correct those reasons?
@Shaw83 yes, actually I talk to someone in the reconsideration line and she only told me my score was too low for the card and to re apply when my score was above 720.

Nothing is 100% guaranteed.
I'd say you have pretty good odds
My data points are a few years old but I got a No-Fee Hilton, BCE and Gold (well at that time PRG) with scores of 650-670. You may have been denied before for your oldest account being too new. I would give it another shot, hard pulls only count on your score for a year and only remain on your report for two.
AMEX Gold Card with 75K points is definitely the one to get especially the lower AF.
I'd say you have a good chance.
Worth the shot since I only got 60K points for the Plat SUB.
Once again you never know what a Credit Card company will do at any given moment .. I got approved for my AmEx gold card with 616 credit score with at my 1 yr credit anniversary .. 1 PNC cC with 1,000 limit , and Amazon prime card with 200.00 limit with one baddy hospital Bill at th3 time I applied for the gold ...my friend who I had recommended had 8.2 years ave credit history and 804 score got declined ... you just never know ... it's all a roll of the dice.
@Talonwildstar you're right about that, ill just take the shot, I'm just still debating if I should take my shot and apply for the Amex Gold or the CSP, thanks!
