Amex Gold or CSR - which to apply for first?

Planning on applying for both Amex Gold and CSR over the next few months.  I currently have Delta Amex Gold.  I am 1/24.  Standard rule of thumb would be to apply for CSR first, but just wondering if I should get Amex Gold first and still then have 3 slots for Chase Trifecta.

I'm going to do the same apps, I'm 2/24. I want to get the highest starting limit combined so I'm curious which order to app in.

IMO, i would apply for chase first.  Amex is easier to get by multiple inquiries, new accts etc.  this is my experience anyway.  if you do the chase first, you would probalby get the amex anyway.

I would recommend going with the CSR first. It's a more premier card compared to the Gold. If you plan on getting any other Chase card, go for that first. Once you've apped for all the necessary cards, then go for the Gold. The UW for the gold is alot more lenient compared to Chase CSR and their other cards.

But Gold will probably be SP so Chase won't know anything about Gold until 2 statements in if you Gold first, personally I don't think it matters much either way.

I agree with oldman87. If preapproved, you won’t take a HP for the Gold card, and Amex usually takes two statements to report new accounts to the credit bureaus. So, you could apply for the Gold first, give yourself 1 1/2 months or so to get started on the minimum spend for the Gold card’s SUB,, and then apply for the CSR. Good luck, and please do update us.

Good points but a hp is always possible for whatever reason, why chance it?
