Amex sent me a targeted offer for the Amex Gold card with a 50K-point bonus. But I previously owned the Amex Premier Gold card, which I shut down one and a half years ago. It looks like the Amex Gold is a refreshed version of the Premier Gold card with a new name, higher annual fee and better features. Do you think I am eligible for the bonus since I have had a previous version of the card? The fact I received a targeted offer seems to suggest Amex would have to make good on the bonus it is using to bait me.
Is there language in the new offer that says something similar to "if you received a SUB previously you are not eligible"? I've read that they sometimes don't state that which will allow you to be eligible for the new SUB.

I read through the fine print a few times and can't find such language. So I think Amex will honor it. That said, there is a lot of fine print! I went ahead and applied for the card and was approved. Will circle back in a few months to confirm whether the bonus was received. Thank you for your response.
If no once in lifetime language you should be good also you will get a pop-up online if not eligible. I would search the fine print once again, but once you submit if not eligible it should let you know before it allows you to move forward... you can decline to go forward if they alert you that you aren't eligible for bonus etc..
