Now here is the strange thing. I received the email saying they finished processing my application and to check the status "click here". So I did, and it doesn't show up! My other apps for the BCE that were all declined over the last months do show up. But not this one.

Should I call?

Yes, I would call the recon line to save the hard pull if you can. They might approve you if you can discuss the recent hard pulls you've had over the past 6 months. Good luck. If not, wait until next April to apply. You'll get it.

Yes, in my experience AMEX hides some cards from view.  Like you, until recently I was only preapproved for credit cards but got they "other statement" for charge cards.  Anyway, I applied for the PRG on 11/27 and was denied.  Since then the PRG does not appear in my list of cards.  When I'm not logged it I can see all 19 cards offered by Amex.  When I'm logged in I can only see 13 cards (click Menu/Cards/View All Personal Charge & Credit Cards) Of those 13, cards only one, the Green Card, is a charge card.  But prior to 11/27, 14 cards including the PRG were viewable.  So I'm waiting for 12/27 to see if the PRG reappears and validates the observation that Amex hides some cards.

Edit:  When I copy the PRG link from incognito mode to my signed-in account I get the following:

Yep, I get this same error page.  That's annoying because I was at least able to see the Platinum just a few days ago!  But I guess it's one of those oddball Amex things, and maybe a good thing since I don't want to app for the Platinum until March 2018 at the absolute earliest.  Might be May even, because I expect my EX to go up 30-40 points by then as some inquiries stop scoring and my new account penalty goes away.

Re: Amex Green Card Pre-Qualify!

I called and actually, no HP!

I wasn't declined for the card, actually the system just kicked it out because my last application that I was declined for was less than 30 days ago when I last appd for the BCE!

They said it's automatic and all I have to do is wait until after the 20th and I would likely have a much better outcome!

Whew!

Haha, I originally said NO APP'ING until February Smiley Very Happy

AMEX has a 2/90 rule too. No two applications within 90 days for revolvers, although there seems to be conflicting data points on that too.

At least you know you'll get the card in no time. Hang tight for a bit, and we'll keep the lights on in the clubhouse for you!

Re: Amex Green Card Pre-Qualify!

I wasn’t aware that you had been denied by Amex in the past 30 days. I must have missed that.

Wait until the 21st and reapp if the pre approval is still showing

Re: Amex Green Card Pre-Qualify!

No worries, I don't think I mentioned it. Only that I had been denied for the BCE 4 times since July! And the day before yesterday I had no pre qualifies. Yesterday, pre qualified for the Green Card and today, pre qualified for both Green and PRG!

Re: Amex Green Card Pre-Qualify!

The online denial letter will tell you the date of the soft pull they used.  If I were in your position I would wait two months from the date of the soft pull they used - not one month from your last app - before reapplying,  That way you will know that they are using the most current credit scores.  The FICO score shown in your account is usually current but typically its not the one they use to evaluate applications.

For example, I know Amex used a soft pull dated 11/4/2017 to evaluate my PRG app on 11/27.  That pull had an EX score of 649 while my account showed it at 677.  So I'm waiting until 1/4/2018 or later to reapply even though I'd be eligible to reapply on 12/28.  By that time my scores will only be higher.

Re: Amex Green Card Pre-Qualify!

@ABCD2199 .

Just logged in to my Amex account and now only 12 cards are viewable under the Show all Cards listing.  Yesterday I could see 13 listed, and a few weeks ago it was 15.  I wish I had screen capped the list yesterday so I could figure out which card was removed today.

Re: Amex Green Card Pre-Qualify!

I checked today and all of the charge cards except for Green are still missing.  I believe my number of cards is the same as before (14 I think).

So weird.
