Amex PRG chances?

This is the last card I want before I go into the garden to prep for a mortgage, scores are TU 725 EX 693 EQ 692. Util around 30%, no baddies, AAoA about 2.4 years and Inq's at 9 for the past year due to car shopping. Also looking to app for the BCE or Delta if approved for a charge. Thanks for your help! Btw looking to app on the 23rd when my balances are reported

You're fine. Good idea to wait until your reported balances go down. 30% isn't great but probably not a deal breaker.

Re: Amex PRG chances?

Keeping util below 30% is ideal, but the rest of your profile checks out.  Nonetheless, if you can, I'd try to get util below that magic number of 30%.

With that said, you should be fine apping for the PRG.  All Amex charge cards have the same UW requirement, so the PRG isn't as hard to get as its reputation implies.  The car loan INQ's are typically only counted as one.  So not all of your 9 INQ's should count.

By the way, what credit bureau are you talking about with your INQ's?  Because Amex always pulls Experian.  So if some of your INQ's are only on EQ or TU for example, then you're in even better shape.  Amex can pull other bureaus on occasion, but EX is pretty much always a sure bet.

All of my Inq's are on EX unfortunately. But from lurking the posts it seems like Amex isn't very Inq sensitive.

Yeah, they're not nearly as bad as other lenders with INQ's.  Best of luck with the app(s) next week.  Let us know the results! Smiley Happy

Good answer. Great advice.

With that said, the INQs are typically only counted as one -assuming they're all within a 45 day window. That's it.
