Amex Plat app gets 14 days message...what does that mean other than waiting?

OK I admit that I did not have 100k SUB offer when I applied. But there are a few big expenses coming up, so I applied with 75k offer. My ex 726, FICO 774, 0% Ulit. I had CashMag since last Aug, and Business Gold since last Oct, both with Amex of course. 

After submitting application, I got wait for 14 days message. What's that mean in the end?

I do have "preapproved" status when I log into my account under Platinum. 

Should I just wait? If so, how long?

I did it says "In Progress"

The 14-day message can go in either direction, but tends to usually go the manual review route, for instance.

You can definitely keep checking the site/link periodically to learn the progress/outcome of the application.

I don't see any harm in calling in and asking them if they need any more information to help with the decision. I got the 14 day message, I think it was when I apped for the gold card, they just wanted to make sure it was me.

Finally I found some time to call today...they asked me if I am in the military so they can waive my annual fee...and they approved me with 75k
