Hello community,
tonight I received an email from American Express inviting me to apply for an American Express platinum card I've been an American Express member since 2019 I have a blue cash preferred and a platinum Delta card of which the Blue Cross preferred has a 20 K spending limit in the Delta card as a 14 K spending limit I've never been late and I pay my bills on time and I keep my location very low if anything. My question to you is is this email marketing or is it legit it has an RSVP number as well in regards to responding to it if I was interested in it. Currently my Experian FICO score is a 743 and my Trans Union score is a 753. I am very interested in applying for this card but my question is do they do a hard or soft ball should I decide to pull the gun and apply for this card .
The email states:

The email invitation is just marketing, it is not a pre-approved offer.
Having said that, you have been selected because you've met some internal criteria for the invite. As there is no special SUB tied to the offer (from the email excerpt you've shared), you can always test the odds via their website. Log in, select the Platinum card, click Apply, and if it says something along the lines of "T, you're pre-approved..." then it's usually a solid offer. If the message yields "T, expanding your membership...", then it's not a pre-approved offer, but you *could* still be approved if you meet their underwriting criteria.
Thank you
Termain, you are pre-approved!
Get a decision in as little as 30 seconds.
Based on your experience with Amex you have an extremely high chance of your application being a soft pull! I have 6 Amex cards but only have had 1 hard pull! Best wishes to you should you decide to apply!
