Re: Amex Pre-Qualified with solid apr

Yea, I agree. I'm going to garden and age what I have. I actually applied for a Chase Ritz card on the 30th of last month and got the 30 day message and 30 day message when I called as well. I called the next day and the automated system said I was approved with a 10,000 limit and apr of 23.74 I recieved the card a few days ago and set up my online account only to see the card was closed. Called Chase and was told they were not sure why it waas closed but a letter was sent out. I still havent recieved a letter and the annual fee is still on the account. Chase said the fee will be removed in time and not to worry. Oh well off to the garden I go.

Re: Amex Pre-Qualified with solid apr

Well done garden it out.  You can get much better APR than 23.xx once the accounts age out. My hobbies   this year gardening, sp cli, and aging accounts. The only new account we want and will apply for is after Mid June is a Chase INk for our biz at our house for our biz to replace our Spark card. My TU score just hit 765 and i feel by year end if no new cards but above which will be under DW name I can hit that on all three and then ask for APR reductions.   Good Luck

Update:

It's been two weeks since I app'd

I checked the status site again and it changed from "in progress" to "canceled" so I called in and they told me they have mailed me a 4056T form.

She said the app is still in progress, just to fill it out and mail it back. Such a long process so far.

The dreaded 4056T not as bad as FR though.   Income isue they are wondering how you are going to pay them along with the other 25 new cards. If your 4056T maches what you told them then no problem. Good Luck.

Oh okay got it. What I told them was my income but I file jointly with my wife so I don't know if that will make a difference.
