How solid is an Amex Pre-qualified offer. I got this today. It also pre-qualified me for 13 other cards but this is the one I am interested in.
This will be my first Amex card.
Not 100% but generally solid. Doesn't take into account if you've been blacklisted by them previously but if you're on their blacklist they will deny without a HP.
Mine looked exactly like that and I got it.
Their pre-qualified offers are pretty solids. Press the apply button if you see your name appear on the card, it's a guarantee you're going to get approved. I applied for the Amex platinum yesterday after I've checked the prequalified. I get approved instantly. They pull from Experian though.
Congrats on your soon to be new Amex card

Depends
Are your collections with Midland, PRA, and others you might have paid now?
You have recent charge offs and collections associated with them, so I really wouldn't put too much faith in prequal results.
Your chances are better if those accounts are paid now, and in your case, they will most likely pull Clarity in addition to EX.
Yes, the collections are all paid and have been removed from my reports for some time now. I have no collections and all old and closed debt have been paid. Just 3 late payments from like 4 years ago from separate student loan. My current score is 725 fico 8 experian and I have 10 inquiries, 6 of them falls off in december. It was the car dealership shopping for car loan.
Hi there. I got a pre-qualified notice yesterday. I applied and it said they would review and contact me. I wasn't instantly approved. Maybe I'm just not quite there yet.
My current scores:
EXP: 691
TU: 662
EQ: 623

How do you know if you're blacklisted and how does that happen?
Thanks!

If your AMEX accounts were closed due to unpaid debt like including them in a bankruptcy filing or due to what they considered fraud you can expect them to blacklist you. If you are a former cardholder and have an application immediately denied without an inquiry being made that's a strong indicator that you are (still) on the blacklist. If you have a BK reporting less than 61 months old and AMEX was not IIB they will still automatically deny you but that is tied to the age of the BK and not a blacklisting.
