if you google AMEX pre qualify then follow that link it will take you to their pre qualify form... I see on that page it says that existing card holders aren't eligible for pre qualified offers?!
Well Dang! I appreciate you taking the time to respond..

Tried it myself through incognito mode inside the browser and I get the form but, eventually it knows you have an account and will ask you to authenticate. Amex is smart enough to know you've already been knighted and no sneakying around good ole'faithful here.

When I try to prequalfy BEFORE logging into Amex, Its takes me to logon page. Once in all I see is My current card and the list of their CC's. I don't see a link to prequalify. What am I missing?? Thanks.
Since you're already a cardmember, why not check (while logged in) to see whether any of the cards that may be of interest to you display as pre-approved?
Amex never show me any prequals. When I apped for my first card I did a cold app because I didn't prequal for any of there cards back than! (approved for Delta) I figured since I now have a card with good history and usage they would possibly prequal me for something! Have 5 inq between all cra's. Trying to thicken file as I'm shooting for mortgage in 2023.

Well, if you're shooting for a mortgage at some point during 2023, then applying for any new accounts and/or incurring any HPs is definitely not recommended.

Understood... My issue is 1 collection (To be settled today) and more closed bad accounts (with lates) than good accounts. 5 older closed bad accounts (lates) vs 4 good accounts ...All scores other then basic fico 8 Trans, EX and mortgage are in high sixes. So the only thing I can figure to do to help scores is to outnumber the bad TL with good ones to get the scores a movin! btw mortgage mid score is 653. All are within 5 pts. Thanks for the info..

What are your actual mortgage scores? The collections account are you getting a pay for delete? If not how long til it offs off your report? Similar question how long til the lates age off your report? You will be significantly better off waiting til 2025 if these lates and collections are newish if that is the case go ahead and get the new account now since you will have 18 months for the new account reason code to fall off your mortgage score.
