Wow. Youre lucky. What were your scores when you got back in with the revolver ?
Lackluster. I think my EX was 665 or 667. So not only did the approval shock me, but so did the $5k CL and the 17.99% interest (not their worst!)
Awesome. Good for you
Thanks! I'll trade your wife my EveryDay for your spade!
It's.... so.... hard... to.... garden....
Bummer-
Just tried to get the Everyday Amex and they denied.
The decline reason was that they had cancelled a previous card.
Does this mean they didnt do a HP?
Also- If I was to try and negotiate a partial payment to get back in their graces.... would that restart SOL?
They probably did a HP.
From my understanding, even if it fell off your report you won't get approved until you pay them back what was owed regardless of time. I'm sure there's been a few exceptions, but that's what I've seen

The best thing to do is to ring Amex to see what they are willing to do. We can give you suggestions but ultimately, it will come down to them as to how they want to handle your charged off account.

Yeah AMEX doesn't really do recon, if you get denied it's pretty much set in stone. I did notice AMEX and other big lenders don't like to see unpaid collections. Just my thought.

Agree. Unfortunately in this instance a positive recon is unlikely. While it is true that some ppl hav been able to reestablish a relationship with Amex after a burn it is rare and unquestionably out of the norm. My general line of thought on the matter otherwise is....
How important is gaining an Amex to U (given that there are still other decent cards avail)?
Answering that should guide your next decision going forward. Best of luck.
Amex let me back in after burning them in a bankruptcy. Only took 33 years.

It was charged off and has since fallen off of my reports.
Someone once (3 years ago) tried to add me as an authorized user on their JetBlue Amex and was denied adding me because of the charge off.
My question is since it has been more than 7 years and it is off my reports- If I applied for a Green Card would I get denied for that reason?
Amex is known for long memories. Even if you think that baddie you owe them is gone, think again. They WILL remember you for kicking them to the curb 7 years ago.
You can chance it by applying and risk a hard pull but probably best to stay low and move to another cc company or you can call them up to settle, then apply for the greenn card.
Good luck.

In your case, SERVE.
