Amex good approvals

Can someone confirm if having a particular credit card will hurt your chances of approval with Amex gold. I can't confirm if this is true or not

Thanks in Advance

Not true at all. Amex approvals will be based on your Score, DP's, salary, and Amex's Top Secret formula. Let's of me get approved for AmEx cards while having even some of the worst starter/builder cards. Especially the Gold card since it's a Charge card and not a credit card as AmEx tends to be more lax with it's approvals as long as you aren't on their Blacklist. Also try the Pre-Approval as their's is as close to money as any ones. Always a shot a PA could stil result in a denial but it's rare.

😏 I am just thinking aloud here but could you add more details or reference a specific card or type of crsir account for all those who may view you post?

I say this because the understanding I am interpreting is that you want someone to prove a negative... 🤔

Re: Amex good approvals

I currently have the capital one platinum secured card and a Indigo platinum master card. I read on a forum a while back that these cards hurt your chances of approval for the Amex gold.

Yep... while I wouldn't call any of my cards "bad" due to the fact they have no AF... I do have a few starter/builder cards and Amex approved me in May for a $10k Delta gold...

... after never giving me a CLI on the $1k Delta gold I had from 2014-2016 and closed shortly before I filed Ch 13 BK.

No CLI for 2+ years... then a 10x CLI 5 years later.

It's the secret sauce.

Not true. Lenders don't care about the name of the bank on your card. They only care about how the accounts were handled.
