Posting a quick question for a buddy,
I have a freind who saw an offer he was good with for an Amex Plat. He called and they said he was inelgible because he has had a Platinum before in the past and recvied a bonus for it. Thing is, he has never had one and has also never had one opened in his name.
Anyone run into this before?

If he was a AU on that card it might count. I had a personal AMEX which was closed for years and when I opened a business card the member since date was from when I 1st opened the personal card, so maybe that could be a possible scenario
Interesting, I just checked with him. He definately has not been an AU before on anyones Amex.
Being your friend says he's never had the card, and never been an AU on one, and ruling out other reasons for denial of the bonus such as pop up jail for suspected churning, etc... Since they specifically said he's ineligible because he's already gotten the bonus, has he asked them when he allegedly received the bonus? Does he have other Amex cards? If so when did he get them.

Strange... because I opened a Delta Gold in 2016 and got the bonus miles... and then closed it in 2017 and opened another in 2022 and got the bonus miles again.
