Re: Amex preapproval while logged in, but...

I logged into Amex and when I click on the apply I do get "SJT you are pre approved" but it gives an APR range. So whats the difference if you get a set APR or a range when it states you are pre approved?

Re: Amex preapproval while logged in, but...

As someone else said. Once your an existing card member with Amex and it’s been longer then 30 days since account opening. All denials should be a soft pull.

I just had this discussion with Amex since I app’d for a BCE with a delta card. They told me since it had only been 28 days since I opened the delta. They needed to pull my credit report.

So even if you end up being declined. No harm no foul.

But I would consider the website to be accurate. I am pre approved while logged in for any charge card or cobranded card.
Only cards I’m not preapproved for is ED and BCE and the preferred versions of those two cards. Which is accurate with my recent denial from Amex
