Hey everyone! I have a quick question I hope someone could clarify for me. I was logged into my amex account and 3 cards came up that said "Recommended cards for you" and one of those cards was the Platinum card, which is a card I am interested in since I do a decent amout of traveling. When a card comes up as "recommended for you" is that kind of like a pre approval with amex? They dont seem to really have a solid pre qualify page anymore. Thanks!
You need to drill down deeper to find the cards you are pre-approved for. The three recommended cards are just the cards Amex's marketing department are currently pushing.
1. Log in to your account, then click on Menu > Cards > View all Credit Cards.
2. Click on any card, then click on the "Apply Now" button.
3. If you see a statement "vinster95, you are pre-approved!" you're good to go and it will most likely be a soft pull approval. If you see "vinster95, expanding your membership with us is easy" you are not pre-approved for that particular card. Check each card then back out. You might be surprised that you are pre-approved for more cards that you think. So click on Apply Now for the Platinum card and see what it says.
