Could you send me one too?

Call them for a recon, not a letter. AMEX will simply do a manual review.
I apped and was denied earlier this month. Called and the representative barely spoke English. Sent off written recon yesterday. We shall see if it helps. Not sure how fast they’ll respond but it felt good to at least try.

AMEX does not recon like Chase or Barclays. Sending a letter is not any better than calling. Either way someone is going to send it to manual review.
Usually if you are boarder line they will let you in the door with a counter offer and a very low SL. If you were declined, it's most likely going to stay that way. So calling will get your answer a heck of a lot faster than sending a letter.
It's so weird to me that people need to see a letter for a recon. Googling "recon letter" brings up a million variations and you know how most people are: they take boilerplate, change their names, and hope it works.
Recon letters are easy -- once you have their reason for denial, you ask for recon and explain why their reason doesn't apply.
Same with goodwill letters. Same with any letter to overcome AA.
If you're denied by Amex, you get their denial reasons, then consider if those reasons sound solid. If so, recon probably won't work.
If you have recent chargeoffs and delinquencies, recon will never work with a prime lender but it still doesn't hurt to request it.

There is 2 answers to this question....
If AmEx says Yes - Then I accomplished my goal to get in with them. I want a relationship and willing to work to grow with them.
If AmEx says No - Then I wouldn' t be wondering "what if" and I only lost postage. This is good practice in replying to a recon, regardless if its written or a phone call.
FWIW - I did call in for a manual review. No repsonse and I have no idea what the outcome was. Since I have not seen a card, I'm assuming it was still declined. But it doesn't hurt to go through the motions and try one more time.
Hi I was also just denied and am hoping to send a letter as well. (Mod Cut-Personal info cannot be posted in the public forum, thanks for understanding) Thanks in advance!
I will PM you the letter.
Also, you should remove your email address.
