I've got a question that I'm simply just curious about.
Does Amex look at range for approval or actual credit score?
For eg: if I'm anywhere in the "good" range, do I have the same chances at 670 or 739? (same range)
Or they DO care about the higher score even in the same range.
Amex, and basically any other lender, doesn't really have a magic number/score where they automatically approve or deny. They'll look at factors behind the score. A 670 score might get approved while a 739 might not.
Good luck if you have an app planned!
I just recently climbed to Experian 764 FICO 8 and am waiting for my Amex scores to catch up to that.
But was curious about the ranges.
Thank you for the reply.

Ha! Yes! My Amex scores update 14th and 28th of each month. So I'm thinking at the end of the month I should be good to apply.
You wont be good to go till at least three weeks after you see your new score reflected in Amex account.
If you apply sooner, UW will use old score, as there is significant lag from when it shows up in your account and when decisions based on new score are made.

Thank you. That's what I've read. I'm expecting the scores to update April 14th and then I'll most likely wait till May 15th

That should be plenty of time
Congrats on your score improvement

Thank you! Finally got that fake late taken care of.
*Phew*
I'm so glad I continued to read this post as I was unaware the lag between score update and UW was so drastic! My score updates on the 14th as well and I was planning on making another move around the 20th but from the likes of it that will be wayyyyy too soon for UW to see the change. Thanks guys!!
