I apply'd this week for a BCE and got approved for 2K, the strange part ofter login in, they did not ask for my SSN or work place, just basic info and income..
About 3 to 4 days has past and my fico does not reflect any hard inq..
I have excellent payment history with amex and a of EX 728.
This is normal?

Yeah I believe you are safe for a SP. In May of 2016 I got my Delta Gold(HP) and then January 2017 got my BCP(SP) and same day got my Patinum(SP). As of today, no HP have shown up.....Congrats!!..![]()
The HP showed up a few days latter for me after I was approved. I've always been under the impression that it's a HP if approved. Hopefully you slid under the radar!
What has been strange for me is that I applied for my first Amex (BCE) in January. That was a hard pull.
I was approved for 3 different amex cards in March through incognito offers. As of today, my only inquiry on my EX report is the app from January.
Obviously I had a HP on my BCE. Three months after getting it I applied and was instantly approved for the EDP without ever getting a HP.

I applied and was approved for my first Amex card (BCP) April 2016 in which I received an HP. I applied and was approved for my Amex Plat on 3/14 and have yet to see any HP reported. I'm assuming a month into it that they must have just SP'd me?
All of this makes me hopeful that I might forgo a HP on an approved charge card...if I decide to apply...

From reading all of this, HP's seem to be hit/miss. I have HP's for all of my AMEX approvals.
