Hi can someone explain this to me? A Little background, I filed Chapter 7 6-1/2 years ago. I apped and recieved the Amex Everyday Card about 4 Months ago. I asked for a credit limit increase of 2x on the card which is @ $3000.00 because all my other cards are above $6000.00 . did'nt want to push it. I got denied. Reason, Bankruptcy...Really? I would of never known. I have a $120.00 balance on the card and less than 1% across the board on over $ 50,000 availiable. If it was such a concern why did they take a chance and give me the card? Should I call and plead my case or just shut my mouth and be happy I'm in with Amex? Thanks in advance for any input.

Really no different than anyone getting denied for a CLI after an initial approval. They approved you for the $3K with the past BK but want to see more use of the card before they'll grant you a CLI. This question often comes, 'why won't they give me a CLI if they approved me for X amount'. On the denial they're going to list the most obvious reason which in your case is the BK. They've just decided, for now, that $3K is the most that they are willing to risk. Keep using the card and try again in 90 days
Thanks Irish80, makes total sense... Sometimes it's better to be thankful for what you have...Ecpecially in my case.
I have Amex ED 2k and Amex BCE 1k. I've talked to Amex a few times about my BCE 1k limit with no lucky of getting it increased.
I think 3k is a decent SL.
Just my opinion.
Atleast we got our foot in with Amex. I believe at one time they were the hardest company to get credit cards with.
