Any Fair/Average Credit.....Credit Cards?

I know when we talk about cards for average credit, usually Capital One and Barclays come to mind.

Does anyone know of any other cards for those with Average/Fair FICO scores.

I'm certainly not talking about Credit One, First Premier, or Merrick Bank

I'm speaking about cards with no AF.  I understand there may not be rewards attached to the card, but interested to see if any hidden treasures pop up here.

Re: Any Fair/Average Credit.....Credit Cards?

Chase Freedom is for average credit?  I was thinking for people with scores in the 650 to 690 range.  I'm not sure of their score requirements but I thought all chase cards were at the bare minimum good credit.

Yes, they approve people in this exact range.

Indeed. Although if you're on the lower end of that range, approval is borderline.

One thing you want to be careful with though is that Chase likes to see a year of good credit history, generally....

If the Freedom seems a little out of reach, Capital One's Journey card is a solid rebuilding card with no AF (although QS1 I think is a bit easier, itt does have an annual fee, which you specifically mentioned you didn't want). It's a good option as long as you can withstand the triple pull.

Re: Any Fair/Average Credit.....Credit Cards?

Chase Freedom for sure caters to the 650+ crowd.

Discover will take a no credit person without baddies.

Navy Federal is awesome towards the average credit crowd...they gave me a $16,000 credit limit with a measly 643 credit score...made me spit out mah juice when I got approved.

Go for a Cap 1 Journey card....if you treat it right, they will PC it to a QS card in no time

Re: Any Fair/Average Credit.....Credit Cards?

Like to add as well, Merrick Bank ain't one of those hideous banks.

They're "OK" for rebuilders.  Probably a little bit more expensive than Capital One but not predatory like those other bad ones.

Merrick Bank is like a Poor Man's version of Capital One.

Just like Capital One is a poor Man's version of AMEX.

But NFCU is not open to the majority of folks in the US (presuming one joins legitimately).  Even though have dead father that I have records to (Korean war), and retired brother from Army, can't figure out how to get in.  And, don't know if I want to at this point.  Happy with what I have right this moment.  Maybe business card by next year (need to have a good idea of profits for projection).

Signature needs updating
