I have the existing REI world MasterCard. I got a mailer that I would be getting upgraded to the new world elite version (no application/action needed). The most intriguing changes are the increase to 2% for using mobile wallet and the dividend discount if you use the card and dividends to pay for an REI trip. There are so discounts and programs included with the World Elite piece-but they aren’t ones I’m likely to use.
I’m a runner and outdoor enthusiast so REI gets a fair portion of my disposable income. Even with the changes, I’m still probably only going to use the card at REI to boost my dividend (and earn dividend on sale/discounted products).
I would love a mobile app for the card that didn’t look like the kids put it together at summer camp, but I otherwise have no complaints on the card.
