App Spree!!! maybe...

Hello,

im have been rebuilding my credit however now i am wondering how and if i should do a app spree.

just approved for for Navy federal yesterday! 1000 SL. i checked the discover site and i was pre approved.

Amex also prequalifed me for the amex gold card. what one should i do first? if i did both. Should i apply at the same time with different browsers. i know they both pull from experian which is my best score.

DPs

676 experian fico score.  8 almost 9 year Bk

last card was in december.

6 cards that i have:

morgan jewelers opened 07/13

american united credit union card 1000 CL opened 04/19

capital one secured 700 CL opened 04/19

citi secured 200 CL opened 05/19

My jewelers club CL 5000

Capital one platinum 300 CL 12/19

AAOC 2 years

so what do yall think?? too early for that? or go for it! and how? also i plan on applying for my second Navy fed card in 95 days, would this affect that? i could wait longer on that, i wouldnt mind. let me know

thanks

My personal opinion is that no one should do an "app spree," but in your case, I especially would not recommend it. You should let that garden grow. At least went until your bankruptcy falls off. Always have a plan before making any moves.

Congratulations on your Navy approval!

Do you need the credit now? Your starting limits shows a pattern of low limits. If you are seeking more low limit cards, app away. If you have patience, perhaps, wait until your profile gets stronger?

Only app I would recommend is the 2nd Navy card at 91/3.

2nd Navy card should give you the breathing room you need for a credit line. Then, you can wait out the remainder for the EE at 10 years.

Amex doesn't care about inq or how many cards you have.  I would apply for that one last since they don't care

Re: App Spree!!! maybe...

I would wait a few months before applying actually.   You're getting those very low limits almost wasting the HP for them.   I would wait til my score goes up so that when you apply you're getting bigger limits.  NFCU will give you that.  Disco or other cards will probably give you know more than $2K limit at best looking at your other card limits.......Not worth the HP in my opinion.   But hey if you want a bunch of low limit credit cards.......ROCK ON!     LOL

Re: App Spree!!! maybe...

Waiting until your BK falls off is not the path to rebuilding credit. The rebuilding section is full of posters who have done it with a BK on their report. Right now you are getting low limits because of your scores. Either your utilization is high or you have negatives (lates and other negatives) since the BK. I would make a plan to replace some of those rebuilders (like my jewelers club) with prime cards. To do that you are going to need to get your utilization down. Get some distance between you and any negatives. Don't app spree.

oh and applying for credit in different browsers does nothing to increase your chance of approval despite what you've read.
