App confusion

This is my first post. I tried to avoid posting and find the answer to my question by searching but I couldn't find these two items:

1- when the fine print of an app's t&c says if you are not approved for a signature version, you will be considered for a platinum version, does this mean they may offer credit lines below 5k? I only ask because I don't think I'd qualify for a card that big but I would be interested in applying if credit lines below 5k might be offered (I know nothing is guaranteed)

2- my second item is I've read on here of the Southwest Premier and Plus cards but on Chase and SW sites I only see the Premier app. Is the plus still available and if so, is that easier to qualify for than the premier?

Thanks for your help

Re: App confusion

Not sure about your second question, but as to your first: yes, they can try and qualify you for the lower limit regular visa platinum if you don't qualify for a visa signature. Obviously you may not be approved at all, but in a sense it's like 2 apps for the price of 1 HP.

Last App: 1/10/2023
Penfed Gold Visa Card

Re: App confusion

Ok thank you OmarGB9 for the help. I have a seven year old, but thin credit file (2 CC and an auto loan), so that's why I was curious. This is a card I could really use if I qualified.

Re: App confusion

Exactly as omar said. and this would also apply to the southwest premier thing you are talking about. so many banks try and get you in. and if they can't thru sig or plat. They will just decline the app. or in cases. They try for the cobranded mastercard or visa. if not they will give you the Store version.

Thanks for your help
