Apple Card CLI Denial

So for those unfamiliar with my Apple Card journey, I had a very hard time getting the Apple Card.  I applied and was denied 11 times before they said yes.  It took me doing the Apple Shopping Cart trick to finally get approved with a $2100 limit.

Today was my 92nd day with the card. I had already successfully financed in November 2020 and paid off an $1800 M1 chip MacBook Pro in 3 months. I chose a 12 month installment plan but couldn't stand the hit my Fico scores were taking being above 90% utilization so I wound up paying it off super early.

I knew with all the struggles I went through to get the card, it might make it harder for me to get a limit increase but I figured since it was a soft pull I'd go for it.

Now the first reason I was denied (recently past due) is the same reason I kept getting denied for the card. I know exactly what they're referring to. An old student loan. I haven't missed a payment in over 2 years though. Before I got to the 2 year mark though my monthly credit report would always list recently past due as a factor. Since I got to 24 months though it never states that.

The other reasons don't make complete sense to me since I spent over $2000 on the card and have paid it all off. Granted my card is still new, I'll give them that, but to add with that reason that I haven't paid off enough of my card limit over time. My balance is $0, it was $1890 back in November.

Oh well, I guess I'll keep trying periodically! I really want to buy an iPhone 12 but don't want to go through more score penalties for having high utilization!  I could buy the iPhone in cash or with another card and pay it off but that would defeat the purpose of me getting the Apple Card. Hoping to get to $10,000 for my limit so I can freely shop at Apple and always have the option to pay it off immediately or do an installment with no Fico score penalty!

Re: Apple Card CLI Denial

I picked up the apple card back in july2020  with only one 30 day late in January 2020 (stupid mistake) No other baddies. They gave me the card $3000sl. I didnt ask for an increase until a couple weeks ago but they doubled it to 6k. I do pay it off to $0 every month. TU fico 9 is 776 ( I think thats what they SP) I would say hank in there it will come.

If it is not too personal might I ask how much you usually spent on your card each month. I've seen some people say to spend 20-25% of your limit each month in order to have a better shot at a limit increase.

Re: Apple Card CLI Denial

I used it for a 2k apple product one month and paid off. Other than that just around $150-$200. I only got it for future financing on apple so trying to spend just enough to get the credit increase but have better cards for daily use.
