Hi,
I have had the Apple Card since 2019, intital limit was $4500, received an auto CLI of $3K I think in 2022.
Current FICO 8 score is 810, Apple card balance is $1K and $600 balance on installment plan.
Overall revolving utilization is 15% and am thinking of requesting an CLI. Would I be required to provide proof of income and will it be a hard or soft inquiry?
How much of a CLI can I expect?
Thanks
It's difficult to say what kind of CLI you may receive without any information about your credit profile, and even with all pertinent data points it's a guessing game at best bc there really isn't a way to calculate the possible increase amount. What is your highest credit line? What are your scores? What is your current utilization? What is your income?
It will be a soft inquiry and you can request an increase via your apple wallet where they allow you to text/chat with GS. It will ask you to update income, if there are any changes, but no POI will be required at the time of the request (at least not in my experience nor have I heard/read about a case where it did)
My highest CL is $10K with, Cap One, AMEX & Barclays.
Income $200K
FICO 8 - 810
Fico 9 Transunion - 771
Revolving Util is - 15%
Requested for CLI and got denied.
Here is the reason
Goldman Sachs Bank USA could not approve your request for a credit limit increase because:
Goldman Sachs Bank USA received your credit score from TransUnion Consumer Solutions.
Your credit score is a number that reflects the information in your consumer report. Your credit score can change, depending on how the information in your consumer report changes.
Your credit score (TransUnion FICO® Score 9) as of December 19, 2022: 771
Not sure what does the above comment mean. I only have $1K balance to be paid on the card and I have always paid in full.
What kind of spend do you put on the card? Is it consistent or just whenever new tech comes out? I've seen this reason before, I would just put more spend on it, pif for a couple of months and ask again.
It also could be that GS doesn't want to be the first one to offer you a CL over 10k, but I'm sure it'll happen. Be patient and try again in a couple of months
Thanks for the info, will try again in 180 days.

That denial code means that you are carrying a balance month to month and they want to see more progress on paying it down faster. Pay off the 600 or drastically cut it down like to 200 or so, pay off your monthly total (before Jan 1st) and then request a new cli after it updates on your report generally somewhere around the 14-18th.

Thanks.
I thought you could only request for a CLI after 180 days if denied?

If denied for credit or internal reasons, be sure to address the items before submitting another CLI. Otherwise, the request will be denied for the same reason. Some individuals have tried every 30-45 days or every other month. It's 181 days after you've been approved for a CLI.
